Jo Miller is an Emotional Eating Coach and the founder of Avordari Wellness Coaching, where she helps women understand the patterns behind their behavior and learn how to respond differently without relying on willpower or restriction.
Her work is rooted in a simple but often overlooked truth: emotional eating isn’t a discipline problem. It’s a response pattern. For years, Jo found herself stuck in cycles she couldn’t fully explain. She would commit to doing better, try to be more “in control,” and for a while, it worked. But eventually, something would trigger the same behaviors again, leaving her frustrated, confused, and questioning why change never seemed to last.
What shifted everything wasn’t more effort… it was awareness.
Through her own experience and years of studying behavior change, emotional regulation, and the nervous system, Jo began to see that her patterns weren’t random. They were learned responses shaped by stress, emotion, and the stories running underneath her behavior. Once she understood that, she was able to change not just what she did, but how she responded in the moments that used to derail her.
That realization became the foundation of her work.
Jo’s approach helps women recognize their patterns, understand the story beneath them, and build the capacity to respond differently in real time. Rather than focusing on food rules or surface-level fixes, her work centers on awareness, self-leadership, and creating sustainable change from the inside out.
Her approach is practical, honest, and deeply human. She doesn’t position herself as someone who has it all figured out, but as someone who has done the work, continues to do the work, and knows how to guide others through it.
